چکیده

A knowledge-based process-planning system for generating workplans for idealized lathe CNC machines is discussed. It transforms CAD-like diagrams of rotational-symmetric workpieces into abstract NC programs. To simplify development and evolution , declarative representations are used for all processing stages and steps, including a qualitative simulation of lathe turning. The version presented here, 'CAD2NC, was written entirely in RELFUN, a functional-logic language integration. Actually, 'CAD2NC is a mostly functional program consisting of three principal transformation components. First, a at term representation of the CAD-like geometrical raw data is parsed into a recursively classiied workpiece representation, exhibiting production-relevant workpiece features (e.g. `shoulders' and`grooves') through nested subterms. From this, a skeletal production plan is created by mapping features to sequential, com-mutative, and alternative subplans (ultimately, lathe actions). Finally, the abstract NC program is generated as a list of actions via a qualitative simulationèxecuting' the plan in order to x alternative subplans and sequentialize commutative ones.

Wire Edm Machining Simulations Based on Step-nc Program

Preliminary notes This paper presents the possibilities of applying a new method of programming based on STEP-NC standards, which was developed as an alternative to the G code. The possibilities of application in the field of machining simulation and verification of the program before machining on the wire electrical discharge machine are discussed. The paper shows the possible methodology for ...

Analysis of Surface Roughness on Machining of Al-5cu Alloy in Cnc Lathe Machine

In this study, an experimental approach is presented for the measurement of the surface roughness of the machined surface produced by simple turning operation in a computer numerically controlled (CNC) Lathe. The parameters used in the experiment were reduced to three cutting parameters, cutting speed, depth of cut, feed rate. Other parameters such as tool nose radius, workpiece length, workpie...

Local Mesh Decimation for Real-time Three-axis Nc Milling Graphical Simulation

The view dependency of typical z-buffer-based NC simulation methods is overcome by a polygon rendering technique that generates polygons to represent the workpiece, thus enabling dynamic viewing transformations without reconstruction of the entire data structure. However, the polygon rendering technique still has difficulty in realizing real-time simulation due to the limited performance of cur...

Prediction of Vibration Induced Displacement and Its Effect on Tool Wear in Turning Using 3d Finite Element Simulation

This paper presents the three dimensional (3D) finite element analysis to predict the workpiece displacement amplitude and tool wear in face turning of AISI 1040 steel under dry machining condition. 3D vibration induced turning models have been developed and validated by comparing with experimental results so as to identify the correlation. Extensive experimentation and investigators carried ou...

Analysis of Lathe Spindle Using Ansys

The machine tool spindle provides the relative motion between the cutting tool and the workpiece which is necessary to perform a material removal operation. In turning, it is the physical link between the machine tool structure and the workpiece, while in processes like milling, drilling or grinding, it links the structure and the cutting tool. This work deals with design and analysis of Lathe ...
